The new OpenAI CEO spoke for the first time

Ana sayfa / Technology

OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, has been going through some mind-boggling events since last weekend. On Friday, OpenAI’s board of directors made a surprise move and fired CEO and co-founder Sam Altman. Over the weekend, the board sought to bring Altman back and then named a new CEO. The new OpenAI CEO’s remarks about the founder did not go unnoticed.

In recent hours, Microsoft announced plans to hire Sam Altman and other former OpenAI employees to build a new AI team. OpenAI’s interim CEO Mira Murati has been replaced by Twitch co-founder and former CEO Emmett Sheer.

In his first message to OpenAI employees and partners as CEO, Sheer reflected on Altman’s dismissal. He said the situation was “very poorly handled, which has severely damaged company trust.”

What’s happening at OpenAI? Founders moved to Microsoft!

Microsoft CEO and OpenAI investor Satya Nadella announced that OpenAI founders Sam Altman and Greg Brockman have joined Microsoft.

He suggested that the board’s reason for firing Altman was different than stated. In Friday’s post, it was stated that co-founder Sam Altman was struggling to ensure company security. But apparently the new CEO doesn’t think so.

Sheer also stated that they will hire an independent researcher to examine the events that led to the leadership change. Preparing a 30-day action plan, the CEO stated that users should trust the ChatGPT developer again.

Emmett Sheer plans to reform OpenAI’s management and leadership structures, in addition to talking to employees, partners, investors and customers at the company. He said there could be “significant management changes”.
